Phyoe Wai Yar Zar graduated from Yangon University in 1994, specialized in International Relations. He achieved Master of Business Administration Degree of Assumption University, Thailand on 15 November 2014. He is married and a father of 3 children. He entered tourism industry in 1995 and worked for a Destination Management Company (DMC) until 2005. Then, he established a DMC of his own and became a member of Myanmar Marketing Committee of Myanmar Tourism Promotion Board in 2006. He later served as a member of executive committee from 2007 to 2012. When the Myanmar Tourism Federation was established in 2011, he was appointed as secretary and later serves in the position of Joint Secretary General. He was then elected as Chairman of Myanmar Tourism Marketing Association (then called Myanmar Marketing Committee) in 2012 and reelected for the second term in 2014. During the project for drafting the Responsible Tourism Policy for Myanmar by Hanns-Seidel Foundation in cooperation with Ministry of Hotels and Tourism and Myanmar Tourism Federation, he was selected as one of the national consultants from private sector and worked with the team of international consultants. He participated at a series of workshops and forums on tourism development in the country and region as a speaker.
